Dr. Rooney has presented specialized prosthetic and restorative techniques to dentists, and presented techniques for prosthetic laboratory support to laboratory technicians. Recently he presented a seminar on Oral Health and Systemic Disease Relationships to health professionals at Johnson County Community College.

Dr. Rooney is a life-long Kansas City resident. He is married with two children and also enjoys snow sports and scuba diving. Dr. Rooney and his staff provide a variety of contributions to the community.  Some of their outreach efforts include The Tony Gonzalez Shadow Buddy Foundation, KCPT public broadcast fundraising, and providing several troops in Iraq with supportive care and fun food (to remind them there is a home front as well).  Lately, the team has participated in breast cancer awareness by supporting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure both with action and donation.
