Cosmetic Dentistry

Never before has an exceptional smile been so obtainable. We understand how to achieve a vibrant, clean and youthful appearance, and for over 14 years we have helped people learn to smile during conversation and photographs. Dramatic changes can be seen in one visit -- and in one office.

Smile Lift. Gummy smile lines and shortened teeth needlessly frustrate people wanting to achieve a beautiful smile. The smile lift procedure can help people enjoy smiling and posing for photographs for the first time. The procedure combines minor plastic surgical principles and cosmetic dental restorations. Shortened teeth are elegantly lengthened and gummy smiles can be shaped to a predetermined design.

Veneers. Veneers are very thin, tooth-colored shells that are custom-fit and bonded to the front sides of teeth to close gaps, cover stains and discolorations, and correct chipped or misshapen teeth to give you a bright, even, attractive smile.

Tooth-colored fillings. Seeing dark, unsightly areas of metal can detract from what otherwise might be a perfect set of teeth. Now there are fillings available that are specially designed to match the natural color of the tooth. These directly placed, bonded resin fillings can make a tooth look like new, whether they are used for small areas of decay or to replace current fillings.

Whitening. Bleaching products brighten teeth that have been stained or darkened by food, tobacco use, age or injury. In-office bleaching takes place over a series of one-hour appointments at the office. First, your teeth will be examined and cleaned to make sure there are no cavities, loose fillings or gum problems. A custom-fit mouthtray will be made for your teeth. Then the bleaching gel is applied to your teeth in the tray.

Comprehensive Dentistry

Beginning with a thorough examination -- including physical and X-ray screening for tooth decay, gum disease, jaw and tooth alignment problems, and oral cancer -- and continuing through any necessary treatment and regular check-ups, our comprehensive dental services help you maintain healthy teeth and gums and a winning smile. Coming to the dentist for cleanings is an essential part of keeping your mouth healthy and preventing decay and disease. Further, exams aid in the early detection of any developing problems, so you can be treated for any problems sooner and more effectively. Dental services include restorative and implant dentistry, cosmetic procedures, oral surgery, complete and partial dentures, and TMJ and periodontal treatment.

Surgical

Oral surgery may be required to diagnose or treat injuries and diseases in the mouth. Biopsies can determine the presence of oral cancer or tumors, which may then be surgically removed (excised). Tooth extractions prevent or treat damage caused by impacted wisdom teeth or crowding. Surgical contouring of the jaw or gum line can correct jaw alignment problems, TMJ, malocclusion ("bad bite") or other problems.

Restorative Dentistry

Dental Implants. There are many kinds of dental implants. The amount of time it takes to restore a tooth after implant placement varies from one hour to 12 months or more. No two people are the same; neither are dental needs. By deciding what your goals are and what you want your smile to look like, the following options exist (these are limited and not all-inclusive):

  • Severly resorbed lower jaw - Subperiosteal Implant with immediate full support using CAT Scan technology.

  • Little Lower Jaw Restored. One-hour immediate retained denture using mini implants and minimally invasive techniques.

  • Thin Jaws. Three months start to finish narrow jaw for missing sections of teeth or replacing removable partials. Often endosseous playe-form implants work well.

  • Adequate or Grafted. Six months start to finish single or multiple endosseous root form implants, and crowns.

With so many different needs and jaw structures, we offer multiple options to help you enjoy a functional, secure, confident and beautiful smile -- all in our office.

Inlays & Onlays. These are solid fillings used to restore damaged or decayed teeth. They are often needed when there is not enough healthy tissue left in the tooth to support a regular filling. (If a tooth is severely damaged, a crown may be necessary to cover the entire surface instead of an inlay or onlay.) Unlike regular fillings, they strengthen rather than weaken teeth. Inlays lie within the cusps, or bumps, on the surface of a tooth, while onlays cover one or more cusps.

Bridges. Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth.

Crowns. Crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size or color of teeth. They can support broken or weak teeth or those with large fillings; provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for stained, misshapen or otherwise abnormal teeth; and aid in the implantation of bridges and other implants.

IV Sedation

Patients who are uncomfortable with needles and drills, who have sensitive teeth or gums, or who have a strong gag reflex can be helped with dental sedation. After the injection, many patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during and after treatment. They often have little or no memory of the visit.

Nitrous oxide is also available for patients who are nervous, sensitive, or wish to have extensive dental work completed in a single visit. The patient first breathes pure oxygen through a mask or tube. Nitrous oxide is slowly added to the oxygen, helping the patient feel more comfortable during the procedure. The patient remains awake but feels calm and relaxed.

Micro-Dentistry/Minimally Invasive Dentistry

One of the more exciting developments in dentistry is that of minimally invasive, air-abrasion technology. New techniques in bonding, dyes, lights and magnification make it possible to remove decayed areas precisely, leave more healthy tooth intact, and seal the tooth with a strong, natural-looking filling. Using a stream of air that contains tiny aluminum oxide particles ("air abrasion") allows procedures to be performed with no drill, less pain and bleeding, and, most of the time, no anesthesia shot.
